Genotypecast: A New Podcast from Grey Genetics

By Grey Genetics · Jan 2020

Grey Genetics has launched a second podcast: Genotypecast. Most episodes are 10–15 minutes long and focus on recent news stories related to genetics, with commentary from genetic counselors.

Many excellent podcasts cover politics, economics, culture, and books — with insight from relevant specialists and critics. But genetics commentary from genetic counselors has been largely absent from that format. Genotypecast is aiming to fill that gap.

Episodes released to date include: George Church's DigiD8 Brings Eugenics to Dating Apps (with Katya Orlova); When a NYT Article Stirs up Confusion about Reproductive Genetics (with Brianne Kirkpatrick); Panel Testing: Insurance Coverage and Clinical Utility (with Kate Wilson); Carrier Screening Panels are Getting Bigger… Is That Better? (with Amanda Gamma); and DNA Donations: Implications to Consider (with Brianne Kirkpatrick).

Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts, or stream episodes directly at anchor.fm/genotypecast. If you have a topic you'd like covered, or you're a genetic counselor interested in appearing on the podcast, email [email protected].
