Independent genetic counseling
built into your product.
Grey Genetics partners with genomics companies and genetic testing laboratories to provide independent genetic counseling — for your patients, for the physicians ordering your tests, or both.
Genetic Counseling for Your Patients
Grey Genetics provides genetic counseling as an extension of your company's offering — before testing, after results, or both. Patients book through a private scheduling link configured for your account. A genetic counselor helps your clients understand what results mean for their health, their family, and their next steps — and documents that conversation in a consult note.
Clinical Support for Ordering Physicians
Board-certified genetic counselors provide support for physicians ordering your tests, helping them understand their patients' results within their clinical context and ensuring they feel prepared to discuss any recommendations or next steps with their patients.
Our services are designed to fit around you, not the other way around.

Whether you have your own portal or are using third-party tools, we can work with the HIPAA-compliant platforms and file-sharing systems that are already working for you.

Supporting the physicians who order your tests
Most physicians have received very little training in genetics — yet increasingly, integrating genetics into their clinical practice is required for good patient care. Physicians ordering genetic testing have taken on this challenge, but for both them and their patients to get the full value from genetic testing, they need clinical support.
When a genetic test result comes back, a physician is sometimes missing just one or two pieces of key information that may be keeping them from fully understanding and being able to discuss a test result with their patient. The best learning happens through case reviews. A board-certified genetic counselor can join the physician for a brief consult, tailored to their specialty, their patient's specific result, and the clinical context. It's not a product pitch — it's a conversation about evidence, guidelines, and often about the real unknowns in genetics and in medicine.
For physician networks where a more structured approach is useful, Grey Genetics can offer periodic scheduled case reviews that also incorporate review of related guidelines.
What this looks like in practice
- Brief phone consult on a specific patient case or result
- Discussion of results in the context of the patient's age, diagnosis, and family history
- Review of any guidelines related to the genetic test result, including medical management changes
- Pre-test consultation on test selection, appropriateness of testing, and likely result scenarios
"You know why doctors don't order genetic testing? Because patients can tell when you don't know what you're talking about."
— A surgeon, on why genetics doesn't get ordered even when guidelines support it
Clinical expertise built into your product
Beyond direct patient and physician services, Grey Genetics consults with genomics companies on the clinical layer of their product. It's easier to get this right from the start than to course-correct later.
- Consulting on product design and related consents
- Consulting on gene selection and variant curation
- Development or review of client-facing content
- Design and review of genetic test reports and client-facing materials for accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness
- Clinical support for sales teams working with physician customers
Every partnership starts with a conversation. We'd love to hear what you're building.
Are you scheduling on behalf of your patients? Grey Genetics will need to receive signed copies of our Informed Consent for Telehealth and Notice of Privacy Practices before their appointments.
