About Michelle
Michelle holds a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from McGill University and has nearly a decade of experience working in a broad range of genetics-related research roles, including epigenetics, neurogenetics and pediatric cancer. While her primary role is in pediatric oncology, she pursues diverse interests within genetics, including a longstanding focus on psychiatric genetic counselling, helping families explore questions surrounding mental health, neuropsychiatric conditions, and pharmacogenomics.
Michelle is an active member of the Psychiatric Genetics special interest group of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice committee of the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors. She has also worked with a non-profit intersex advocacy group to improve medical care for individuals with variations of sex characteristics.
She prioritizes clinical sessions that feel authentic and collaborative. Ultimately, Michelle aims to ensure every patient leaves their session feeling heard, respected and empowered to make decisions on their own terms.
